00:00There's no need for other countries to make a lot of money because of the help of technology, there's an opportunity for this.

00:08This is because the number of so-called Metaverse Filipino workers or Filipinos earning money

00:14by using digital platforms and virtual environments such as making content or providing services in the virtual world

00:20where they don't have to leave the Philippines and leave their families.

00:24For example, this is the undemanded job of a virtual assistant.

00:27Together with the Department of Information and Communications Technology,

00:31the ICT industry is flourishing in the country.

00:33This includes business process outsourcing or BPO, digital creative industry such as animation and gaming development,

00:40digital start-ups, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

00:45Together with our mandate is ICT literacy and competency development.

00:51So we have a lot of trainings, upskilling, reskilling when it comes to providing digital jobs,

00:57including social media marketing, graphic design, using Canva.

01:02And this is what's new, the Metaverse Filipino workers, including what we call online games.

01:11The DICT is open to everyone for those who want to join the training.

01:15There's no need to be an IT graduate and it can be online or face-to-face.

01:19We also bridge them to potential employers.

01:23In fact, the resource persons or trainers that we recruit are from the industry,

01:31potential employers or companies that will join them after they graduate.

01:37And to bring this closer to more Filipinos who are supported by the government

01:42to build caravans to different places in the country,

01:45including YGG Pilipinas, the regional partner of Yield Guild Games.

01:51What we want to do is really grow the number of communities and community leaders around the country.

01:56So even as we're not there, our footprint is growing and our impact in those areas.

02:03It's when we empower really the communities to learn amongst themselves, to teach each other, to trust each other.

02:11It's important to show that there's an opportunity to learn and earn here because this is what people are looking for.

02:17The so-called caravan will start in April and will last until August.
