‘Amihan’, easterlies to bring partly cloudy skies, isolated rains

00:00We still haven't monitored any typhoons or low-pressure areas inside and outside of our Philippine area of responsibility.

00:12But we have been reporting that this is the Northeast Monsoon, or the cold wind that is blowing here in the extreme northern Luzon.

00:20We expect that this will be the last storm of the Northeast Monsoon.

00:24And it won't be because of the coldness of our previous storms.

00:28This Northeast Monsoon is possible to go down to the main northern Luzon.

00:34And because of this, it is also possible to have a rainy weekend here in Cagayan Valley,

00:39as well as in the eastern section of Central Luzon, along the shoreline.

00:45Meanwhile, we also have the easterlies, or the hot and windy winds coming from the Pacific Ocean,

00:51which is blowing here in a large part of our country.

00:56And there will also be some rain, especially here in the eastern section of our country.

01:07As for our weather today, we expect the effect of the Northeast Monsoon here in Batanes.

01:13We expect that it will be a clear weather with isolated storms.

01:20For Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, we expect a clear weather.

01:25But it will be hot and windy until the afternoon.

01:29There is a chance of quick rains and localized thunderstorms when it comes to the afternoon and evening.

01:37The temperature for Metro Manila is 25 to 34 degrees Celsius.

01:41Lawag is 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.

01:44For Togigaraw, we expect 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.

01:48Baguio, 17 to 25 degrees Celsius.

01:51For Tagaytay, 22 to 31 degrees Celsius.

01:54And Legazpi, 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.

01:58For Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi,

02:03we expect that there will be a clear weather with isolated storms due to the effect of the easterlies.

02:12For Palawan, Visayas, and the southern part of Mindanao,

02:17we expect that it will be hot and windy until the afternoon.

02:22There is a chance of localized thunderstorms when it comes to the afternoon and evening.

02:28The temperature for Calayan Islands and Puerto Princesa is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.

02:33For Iloilo, it is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.

02:37For Tacloban, Cebu, and Cagandeoro, it is 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.

02:42For Zamboanga, it is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.

02:45And for Dabao, it is 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.

02:49For the north-east monsoon, we already have a gale warning in Batanes.

02:55That is why we are warning our fellow countrymen,

02:59especially those who live in small beaches,

03:01that it is dangerous to go out here in the Batanes area.

03:06For our heat index,

03:08the highest computed heat index yesterday, March 5, 2025,

03:12was here in Birak, Catanduanes, with 43 degrees Celsius.

03:1742 degrees Celsius was recorded here in Itiague, Isabela,

03:20Baler, Aurora, San Jose, Occidental, Mindoro, and also here in Meycam, Marinesur.

03:27This is a danger level, that is why we are warning our fellow countrymen

03:32that it is dangerous to go out here, especially in the afternoon and evening,

03:36and to bring a heater and drink a lot of water.

03:42In Metro Manila, our heat index played a role between 39 to 40 degrees Celsius,

03:47particularly here in Maina Ia and here in Science Garden, which is in Quezon City.

03:53For our forecast for our heat index today,

03:56we are expecting 39 to 40 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila.

04:01We are also expecting a danger level of 42 degrees Celsius here in San Jose, Occidental, Mindoro.
