00:00Thank you also to Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam for convening the second series of ASEAN Future
00:14Forum.
00:15Vietnam is again, as I said, a remarkable success story that showcases how a country's
00:23initial poverty is no stumbling to wealth creation and economic growth, correct policy
00:32prescription, strong in governance and anti-corruption measures to promote a progressive and modern
00:41economy.
00:42And we have seen this remarkable success in terms of poverty eradication and uplifting
00:49wealth of the masses.
00:52But we are now in the geopolitical inflection point.
00:58Various global disruptions that we have experienced in the last decade are the new normal, highlighting
01:07the fragility of the global order and existing structures that underpin it.
01:15That's precisely the reason why such forums are not only relevant but very critical to
01:22get the great minds in the region to reflect and share their views.
01:29I believe that ASEAN stands on the precipice of renewal and transformation, engaging within
01:36the region and outside and more so.
01:41I can assure you that our attitude towards New Zealand, as a great friend, therefore
01:46you are much welcome.
01:48This is underpinned by our shared values on progress, prosperity and justice.
01:58We are no longer a bystander in global affairs, but a dynamic and influential force driving
02:04positive change.
02:06And I could not agree more with Prime Minister Pamin Jin when he described that ASEAN is
02:15a region, to quote you, incredible vitality.
