00:00All the achievements in terms of agriculture in this government of President Caminadero

00:08and with the management of all the officials headed by the Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, we have obtained.

00:16And I am going to tell you briefly that in this management we have incorporated

00:23900,000 new land tasks that used to be wasteland land

00:29and that has now been incorporated into national productive activity, which is an important achievement.

00:38320 million quintals of food have been produced here.

00:42Today we are producing 380 million quintals of food every year.

00:48We have had an increase in national production of more than 18%.

00:55And all these achievements and the contribution of 4.9% that we are making to the gross domestic product,

01:03to the economy of the Dominican Republic in the agricultural sector.

01:08Here we have had an increase in production, absolutely in all agricultural products,

01:16and that is due, first, to the commitment that President Caminadero and this government have

01:26with the agri-food policy of the country.

01:30And second, to the hard work of all the officials of the agricultural sector

01:38who have interpreted that commitment of the government

01:42to work and meet the presidential goals headed by Minister Lina del Cruz.

01:50And third, to the increase in financing to the agricultural sector.

01:56Previously, about 17 billion pesos were paid annually,

02:01and today we are paying more than 30 billion pesos every year to the agricultural sector

02:08and the Reserve Bank and other banks, the commercial banks,

02:12are also seeing the agricultural sector as a prosperous sector for investment.

02:18And that is why many local and foreign investors have their eyes on the agricultural sector today.

02:28And with these achievements, we have also fulfilled,

02:35by ensuring the food security of all Dominicans,

02:41we have increased agricultural exports,

02:45which this year exceeded 3 billion dollars, 2.6 billion dollars.

02:52We are already between 1,273 million dollars annually.

02:57We have fulfilled with the supply chain of hotels and restaurants

03:03so that all tourists who visit us can enjoy our rich gastronomy.

03:08Nothing is missing.

03:10It is not the same to supply for 7 or 8 million tourists than for 11 million tourists.

03:18And we have fulfilled with this offer,

03:22and we have also contributed to lowering the level of undernourishment or hunger in the Dominican Republic

03:32from 8.7% in 2020 to just 4.6% in the last report of this year of FAO.

03:44And to give you an example, the world average of 9.1% of hunger that they suffer,

03:51the average in Latin America is 6.7%,

03:54and here with all this policy we are at 4.6%,

03:59and that is why the President of the Republic has decided

04:03that in these four years we are heading to zero hunger in the Dominican Republic.

04:11This meeting and appeal includes all the provinces where there is agriculture,

04:19and it has been called upon to each province to show visitors

04:27the potential, the advances, the development that agriculture has in the country.

04:36The truth is that we need the support and encouragement of the FAO.

04:44We have to promote this.

04:46We have to promote what is happening.

04:48We are the suppliers of the country, and we continue to do so.
