00:00Five years ago, this work began to be carried out as a great demand from society,

00:08not only from Santo Domingo Este, but from all the provinces.

00:14When we won the government, we did it with a popular wave,

00:21where people on the streets were asking for justice,

00:26to end corruption and impunity.

00:31In the first month, we came here with our noses covered in the midst of COVID-19.

00:38I accompanied the President to see in what state this work was.

00:43Today, it fills us with great satisfaction that this work is being delivered to the population.

00:52Justice is a fundamental pillar of all democratic societies.

00:59A full democracy is not possible without an impartial, independent justice,

01:06without a justice that ensures the rights of every citizen.

01:13Societies are a permanent conflict,

01:20and this permanent conflict that arises in a society has to have rails through which to rise.

01:29An impartial, independent justice are the rails through which this permanent conflict is resolved.

01:40When this is scarce, society becomes a chaos.

01:46The rule of law is also important for big investments.

01:52No one invests where the rule of law is not guaranteed,

01:57and this rule of law is guaranteed by the judicial power.

02:05There was a van here for many years.

02:09Today, this van is gone,

02:13thanks to the determination of a government that is clear about how to promote democracy,

02:23how to promote the exercise of independent powers,

02:32a government that listens to the citizens

02:35and that understands that the citizens ultimately...
