Manchester’s weekend round-up

Here is a rundown of some of our weekend’s stories that you may have missed.

00:04So let's start with sport, and it was another disappointing weekend for the two Manchester teams in the Premier League,

00:09with neither Manchester United nor Manchester City winning their games against the two clubs from Merseyside.

00:15United did manage to recover from a two-goal deficit to draw with Everton away from home,

00:19while Manchester City failed to lay a glove on Liverpool at the Etihad, falling to a disheartening 2-0 defeat.

00:25Rich Fay has done a piece on the United game and singled out January signing Patrick Dorgue for praise.

00:30The 20-year-old signed from Lecce in Italy earlier this year and put on a dynamic display down United's left,

00:35winning all of his tackles and making four crosses, one of which was nearly turned home by Rasmus Hoyland.

00:40Moving away from sport, we have a piece on Andy Burnham's desire to charge visitors to Manchester a small visitors fee.

00:46There's currently an optional charge of £1 per night for out-of-towners to stay in Manchester's hotels.

00:51Burnham would like to see this made permanent and compulsory, with the aim being to raise money to work towards

00:55cleaning the streets of the city, as well as promoting Manchester as a destination.
