00:11Ruiz underscored that ensuring timely and accessible information for all Filipinos is
00:17his top priority, aiming to empower the public with knowledge and a deeper understanding of
00:23current events. As the new secretary, he pledged to implement government programs and projects
00:29effectively, particularly those designed to assist the country's poorest Filipinos,
00:34and vowed to combat the spread of misinformation and fake news. He was officially sworn in as the
00:40fourth PCO secretary under the Marcos Jr. administration, succeeding Cesar Chavez.
00:46With over two decades of experience as a journalist and anchor,
00:50Ruiz has also worked as a political and media consultant.
