00:09Pope Francis' condition remained critical for the second consecutive day on Sunday.
00:13He also had an initial, slight insufficiency in kidney function.
00:16The 88-year-old pope needed a blood transfusion on Saturday after a prolonged asthma-like
00:21respiratory crisis.
00:22He continues to have a guarded prognosis, based on the latest medical report.
00:27The Vatican also says that while Francis' condition remains critical, he had not experienced
00:31any further respiratory crises since the previous night.
00:35Pope Francis is also alert and well-oriented, and was receiving high-flow oxygen therapy
00:40via a tube under his nose.
00:42Outside Gemelli Hospital, people pray near a statue of St. John Paul II, who was treated
00:46there multiple times during his long papacy.
00:49People leave flowers, write notes for Pope Francis, and light candles at the base of
00:53the St. John Paul II Memorial.
00:55In the meantime, President Marcos joins global calls for prayers for Pope Francis' recovery
