00:22If you see in 2014, the bjp was largely confined to the north and the west of the country

00:29There were large parts of the country including the popular state of uttar pradesh

00:33Which was not controlled by the bjp at the time. How has that changed come to?

00:392016 you can see the bjp by 2017 really slowly expanding and now

00:46As much as 79 of the land mass of the country is saffron by 2017

00:52That big victory in uttar pradesh making a major dent

00:55But also in the northeast the bjp striking in assam and parts of the northeast

01:23Uh, but it slowly starts losing out in certain other parts of the state

01:34Uh is is switching to the bjp. So the bjp now has a base in the south

01:40And slowly but surely the bjp appears

01:44To be growing but in december

01:462020 to 20 the bjp

01:49Finds itself suddenly on the back foot 2018 actually finds itself on the back foot because the congress did well

01:55In rajasthan in chhattisgarh and madhya pradesh by 2020. The bjp is back in control. It topples kamal nath

02:04Uh and takes over madhya pradesh

02:07Then takes back maharashtra crucially by splitting the ship sena

02:12Therefore now you suddenly have both the opposition and the bjp by 2022 occupying equal land mass

02:19By 2023 the bjp is back in the entire north india barring punjab and himachal pradesh

02:28The bjp is fully dominant once again after a minor setback

02:32Some would say in lok sabha retains haryana retains maharashtra

02:37And it appears by february of 2025 as we stand today

02:41The bjp is in power in 16 states on its own

02:46five with its allies and clearly

02:5070 percent of the land area and 69 percent of the country's population
