US-Russia talks will 'yield no results,' says Zelenskyy

The Ukrainian president has repeatedly said that peace negotiations will not succeed without his country's involvement.

00:10The two nations are expected to meet in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, where they will discuss

00:15restoring ties and negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine.

00:20Zelensky said his country had not been invited to participate and has made it clear in the

00:24past that he wouldn't accept any negotiations about Ukraine that don't include his country.

00:32It comes after U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin

00:37on the phone last week.

00:39Shortly after the call, Trump had also called Zelensky, where the two reportedly spoke about

00:44opportunities to achieve peace and discuss their readiness to work together.

00:50Trump's call with Putin left European countries shocked.

00:53They had also demanded a role in peace negotiations.

00:58Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who will be attending the talks, said Europeans shouldn't

01:20Zelensky traveled to the United Arab Emirates late Sunday and is later expected to travel

01:38to Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
