Guidelines for electrical sockets in express buses expected by April, says Loke

The guidelines for installing cables and phone charging sockets in express buses are expected to be finalised as early as April, says Transport Minister Anthony Loke.  Speaking at a press conference on Monday (Feb 17), Loke said the guidelines are being developed by the Energy Commission and SIRIM Berhad (Malaysian Standards and Industrial Research Institute) to ensure compliance by bus manufacturers.  He added that the use of charging sockets remains prohibited on express buses until the guidelines are completed. 00:09Yes, first of all, the report has already been made by the Special Task Force,

00:18which we have submitted to the relevant agencies and ministries

00:39Let us have a standard that makes it easier for the bus manufacturing sector to follow the standard that has been developed.

00:52The standard is being developed now by Surajaya Tendaga and SIRIM.

01:07So we expect it to come in April or May.
