Euronews returns to profitability, announces new chapter as Europe’s leading news provider

Euronews' chairman Pedro Vargas David announced that the news outlet returned to profitability for the first time in a decade, heralding in a new chapter of pan-European journalism as Euronews expands across the continent and beyond.

00:00So, after three years, after the beginning of the turnaround, Euronews is very happy

00:04to report that for the first time in 10 years, we have returned to profitability with the

00:08first positive EVITA in 2024, which marks an amazing turn point for Euronews.

00:14We went through a very painful and difficult restructuring, but now after turning 30, it's

00:19a whole new beginning for Euronews.

00:22First with the move of our newsroom to Brussels, where we're now the biggest established newsroom

00:27covering European affairs, being at the center of what is happening in Brussels.

00:33Second, with our expansion, opening offices, we open our new Polish service.

00:39We're now opening two more franchises this year in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Montenegro,

00:44two more to come still this year.

00:46Definitely expanding, bringing the voice of Europe around the world.

00:49And third, finally, a very strong commitment on our editorial principles, on our journalistic

00:55values, bringing better stories, more stories to our audience.

00:59And that is seen by the reaction we had.

01:012024 was a record year for our digital audiences.

01:05We're doing much better in TV.

01:07So Euronews is back.

01:08Euronews is strong.

01:09And we look forward to the next chapters.
