00:00It's the most common condition in the country, it affects one in every six people, and when

00:09we think about cardiovascular disease, one person dies every 12 minutes as a result of

00:14it.

00:15Cardiovascular disease covers a range of life-threatening conditions, including coronary artery disease,

00:20which blocks blood flow to the heart, arrhythmia, which causes irregular heartbeats, and strokes.

00:27It is an umbrella term that encompasses anything that really does affect the heart or heart

00:31disease itself.

00:32And prevention starts with a simple visit to your GP, as well as setting some realistic

00:37health goals.

00:38We watch Netflix on a lounge, we have meetings sitting down, we catch up for friends sitting

00:44down, we drive our cars everywhere.

00:46We are becoming less active, and we are eating far more processed foods in general, and so

00:52there is a clear correlation with that, and why we are having far more amounts of cardiovascular

00:58disease in the world, and that it's a global burden.
