Watch Rob Elliot's post-match interview after Crawley Town earn point against high-flying Wycombe Wanderers
Transcript
00:00Sam, just a word on Will Swann, obviously a great goal to open the score in.
00:07Yeah, I mean, Swann is a fantastic lad. He's quite quiet and he goes about his business,
00:15but I don't think he's ever played this many games, so we had to bring him off at half-time as a precaution,
00:20so he should be fine. But Swann has got serious quality and he's got serious finishing ability
00:25and the biggest thing we're trying to do with Swann is get him to understand and believe in himself
00:30because he's scored some fantastic goals. He's probably our top goal scorer now, if I'm going to be right.
00:36Sorry, I don't know why I nodded there. I think Tonis did.
00:39Tonis did, yeah. In the league maybe, I don't know. I'll try and make it clear.
00:42Yeah, sorry.
00:44But no, he's obviously up there. It's good that the Sports are scoring goals, causing carnage and it's good to have them options.
00:50The best thing I love about Swann is the fact that he's been asked to play out of position through necessity at Mansfield
00:55and he's gone and made it. He's gone and put his marker down and he's been effective both with and without the ball.
01:00So, yeah, I'm really proud of him and I'm really pleased for him because he's got that quality
01:04and he's got so many World Squad goals. That's in his DNA and he's doing it in a different way at the moment,
01:12but he's doing it for the team and that's why I'm so pleased with him.
01:15And I went on Jojo Woddicott as well. What a save that was in the first half.
01:19How important was that, that moment, obviously?
01:21Obviously quite early in the game. If he'd obviously conceded an equaliser there, it could have been a different story.
01:25Yeah, 100%. I mean, it's just a world-class save.
01:28Absolutely incredible reflexes and timing and all the stuff that we goalies like to talk about.
01:34Even the whole game, he managed the game so well.
01:37I think not just his goalkeeping is exceptional, but I think with Jojo,
01:41since he's come back on the team in the last couple of games, his decision-making with his feet has been incredible.
01:47He's played through the lines, he's gone longer with a flight and caused carnage when he's gone longer.
01:52He's making really good selections and decision-making.
01:55Jojo's a really talented goalkeeper. He's talented both with his hands and with his feet.
01:59I'm really enjoying watching Jojo the way he is at the moment because his mentality is incredible.
02:06He's a professional and he's at the top.
02:08The way he dealt with coming out of the team for a couple of games and coming back in is, like I said to the lads,
02:14exactly how you conduct yourself and also how you re-cement yourself in the team.
02:22He's been excellent for us this season, so I'm really pleased for him.
02:26Obviously, important contributions, even in the Stevenage game.
02:29He made a couple of good saves earlier as well, so I'm really pleased for him as well.
02:33You're obviously coming up against a team that scored the most goals in League One.
02:36After conceding that equaliser, how pleased are you with the resilience that the players showed to hold on to that point?
02:42They're a very, very good team.
02:45They're a championship physicality and a good footballing team.
02:49We've got a good young manager who's obviously coming in.
02:52To be able to concede the goal, which is disappointing, but that's football, that's life.
02:57You have to be able to react to it.
02:58I think the last two games we've reacted to it really well.
03:01We've managed to get the win against Stevenage and we've held out against Wickham.
03:04On another day, we could have probably been a little bit better in possession and affecting the goal.
03:09Third place in Wickham, they're a very good team.
03:11They make it difficult for you.
03:12They're brave with the way their start positions are and they back their physicality 1v1.
03:17Russia had a fantastic charge, Kepa made some fantastic saves.
03:21Overall, really pleased.
03:23We just have to make sure that we take that momentum into Tuesday.
03:26I know we're getting tired and fatigued, but that's what the squad's there for.
03:29We just need to do it all together because it's going to take everyone on the pitch and off the pitch as well.
