Travel from Al Rashidiya to Expo 2020 site on Dubai Metro in 74 minutes

The first trains travelling straight from Al Rashidiya to Expo 2020 metro station were off to a good start on Tuesday (June 1) and commuters no longer had to switch trains at Jebel Ali interchange station if they’re headed towards any station on Route 2020.  Two new stations on Route 2020 opened on Tuesday. Aside from Expo 2020 Station, the Dubai Investment Park (DIP) station, an underground metro station that spans 27,000 sqm in area and extends 226 metres in length, also became operational on June 1.  The opening of the two new stations comes six months after the opening of the 15-km extension on the Red Line, Route 2020, which started its maiden journey on January 1 initially with four stations — Jebel Ali (transfer station on the Red Line), The Gardens, Discovery Gardens, and Al Furjan. 00:10We integrated Dubai Investment Park and Expo 2020 stations, and this integration will help

00:18us also to serve the community around the two stations.

00:23This also will give us a head up in the operation for the Expo event.

00:27For the time being, now we are operating from Rashidiyah station to Expo station, and whoever

00:32wants to move to or transfer to UAE Exchange, he can transfer within Jabal Aliya station.

00:41The trip from Rashidiyah station to Expo approximately is one hour and 14 minutes, and this will

00:47ease and facilitate for the passenger to use the Metro, and it will give them a comfortable

00:53journey.

00:54Whoever wants to transfer from UAE Exchange to Rashidiyah, they can transfer and change

00:59the station and the platform in Jabal Aliya station, and they can reach to Rashidiyah

01:05destination.

01:06Having the Metro station now operational for Expo 2020 is something really very, very emotional.

01:12Actually, now I get to ride the Metro station and actually walk to the Expo.

01:17Since day one, we planned all the details with the Roads and Transport Authority in

01:22terms of number of visitors that will be coming to the Expo through this station,

01:28and we believe that there is a big portion of the visitors will be using this entrance,

01:34which is the Metro station entrance.

01:36What's more important is actually the planning that we have done with the Roads and Transport

01:41Authority for the legacy stage, which is after the Expo closes its doors, and how this Metro

01:47station is going to integrate with so many different ways of mode of transportation.

01:54We believe that this Metro station is really an amazing architectural feature on its own.

02:02You can see the capacity of the Metro station is much bigger than the other capacities,

02:07obviously because it's going to have a lot of pressure on it from the users, whether

02:12they are coming to the event or leaving the event.

02:15We are very proud of this moment and cannot wait to welcome the world on October 1, 2021.
