The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, approved amendments to travel protocols on Wednesday, which will take effect from next Sunday (January 31) to ensure the safety of travellers.

00:00UAE residents, GCC citizens, and visitors are required to do a PCR test prior to departure
00:09for Dubai, irrespective of the country they are coming from.
00:13These amendments to travel protocols are taking effect from Sunday, January 31, to ensure
00:19the safety of travelers.
00:21Arrivals from certain countries require an additional test on arrival in Dubai.
00:25The committee also reduced the validity period of required pre-travel PCR tests from 96 hours
00:33to 72 hours.
00:35There are some exceptions, however.
00:37UAE citizens returning to the country from overseas will be exempt from undergoing a
00:42PCR test prior to departure, regardless of the country they are coming from.
00:47They will only be required to conduct a PCR test on arrival in Dubai.
00:52Dubai Airports Company also has to provide rapid PCR or rapid antigen testing at the
00:58airports in cooperation with relevant authorities to facilitate travel procedures for passengers
01:04departing from Dubai to countries that require this type of pre-travel test.
01:10Visitors and residents arriving in Dubai can download the Al-Husn app to be updated about
01:15their on-arrival COVID-19 tests.
01:18It is required that passengers should quarantine themselves until the test result comes in
01:23and is negative.
01:24In case of a positive result, the person should go into self-quarantine and home isolation
01:29for 10 days, whether symptomatic or not.
