No Eggs Or Dairy Needed To Make This Depression-Era Wacky Cake

Also known as depression cake or crazy cake, wacky cake is a chocolatey dessert staple if you don't have any dairy or eggs on hand.

00:16about the Great Depression while wearing cashmere,

00:18we're gonna do it anyway.

00:19In a large bowl, we're gonna whisk our cocoa powder,

00:21boiling water, and instant coffee.

00:22Once you're done whisking, let this set for two minutes.

00:25Now we're gonna mix our oil, sugars, salt, and vinegar.

00:29You can also use a different kind of acid,

00:30like lemon juice or any other vinegar

00:32that you have at home.

00:33Now we're gonna add our flour,

00:34baking soda, and baking powder.

00:36It might look a little bit lumpy, but that's okay.

00:38Now we're just gonna pour it into our prepared pan.

00:45For the frosting, you can go many ways.

00:48You can buy a store-bought frosting,

00:50which is always great, we love that.

00:51Or you can also make your own frosting.
