00:46We saw a great opening game last night between Canada and Sweden

00:51USA gets things going tonight a little bit of basketball. Like you said, let's roll

00:55Let's roll right into it Vecchio and we start with the opener in the four nations face off on Canada's home turf last night

01:29You know first off I said on Tuesday Canada's great

01:33But the issue for them is goaltending and Jordan Bainton

01:36Wasn't great last night as he kind of hasn't been all season because he isn't great overall

01:40So their offense can lead the way but at a certain point they're going to see some defensive inefficiencies

01:46We also saw a sheathed or get hurt last night didn't return

01:49He's also out for the remainder of this tournament. So their defense is just a little bit thinner

01:54Their goaltending isn't great to begin with. I think this only bodes well for the kale McCarr MVP future that I spoke about

02:01Tuesday if they're going to win, we know their offense is great. It's Mick David. It's McKinnon. It's Crosby

02:06It's this that Sam Reinhardt is a 50 goal scores on that first power play with Canada

02:10But if they're going to win because of Jordan Bainton just being really average

02:14Kamikaze going to play a huge role. That's only gonna be elevated because they're gonna be down a defender moving forward

02:30After that performance yesterday, you look at the odds now updated team USA plus 145 Canada plus 150 Sweden plus 490 and Finland

02:38At a 9 to 1 price. Do you agree after watching Canada yesterday that team USA should swing to the favorite in this tournament?

02:45They probably should and and it really again comes down to

02:49Goaltending when you have Conor Helyabuck who's going to win the Vezina this year for goalie of the year and he's going to be net

02:54And a head-to-head basis dollar for dollar

02:56He's always going to be better and even Jake odds are the backup for team USA

02:59It's been better than Binnington or whoever they put out there. So I'll take team USA. They obviously get things started tonight

03:05They are a really really heavy favorite tonight going up against Finland so we can roll right into that

03:11Let's go right to it Tom the Americans minus

03:18With a hefty amount of juice at minus 142 and that over under against the finish side is five and a half

03:32Opener against Finland, but when you look at these two sides, what do you think is the key matchup tonight tonight on the ice?

03:38Up in Montreal. Oh, I mean it really comes down to what we're gonna see from Finland on offense

03:44And you know I was here on on Tuesday spoke about team USA in the puck line

03:48That line has moved in our favor if you guys took that

03:51It really comes down to what we see from Finland on offense because I do not think their defense

03:56Will be able to keep up with team USA offense when it comes to the offense

03:59I actually think it's really hard to break down because there's just too many good goal scores

04:02We don't know who's gonna be doing the scoring

04:04So I actually more interest when it comes to

04:06Finland player props Finland a shot props because if they can't push back on offense team USA will legitimately win this game

04:13Five one six one at a certain point

04:16If we are looking at these games to Tom because outside knowledge, right because it is a round-robin tournament

04:22Is there an advantage where let's just say two teams tie is there anything where you have the goal scoring differential where hey?

04:28It's great to win two to one, but if we can win six or seven to one that'll really improve our standing

04:33Yeah, it will it will improve the standings. I'm so this using a different scoring format so Canada last night

04:38They didn't get three points. They only got two because they've been winning regulation

04:41It'll come down to the final game of who is the like who has more points so therefore?

04:46They're the home team which gives them the preferred line change, but it's not like we're playing a best-of series

04:50So it is just the one final game, so it's very minor when it's all said and done

04:53But having home line change is good. You know you have a shorter shape

04:57So I would say running up the score may be a good thing for some of these teams

05:02So we looked at those very hefty odds in favor of the u.s. Tonight in their four nations faceoff first matchup

05:09Against Finland Vecchio let's remind people if they weren't here earlier in the week to get those bets in how you would approach the Americans

05:16As such a hefty favorite tonight against team Finland. Yeah, the puck line has moved. It was minus 118

05:22It's up to minus 142 now so or minus 115

05:25I wouldn't take that I would simply just play the over and minus 120 that's kind of what it implies as I said

05:29I think team USA should be winning this game by multiple goals. They're gonna put up plenty of points

05:33Just the Finland defense is not good UC Soros, and then has not been good again as I mentioned on Tuesday

05:38They lost Myra Heiston, and they lost Ross miss first one in a blue line

05:41They back up players in there her plate fewer than 20 games this year

05:44It's all about team USA as a goal scorer tonight

05:46I don't know who's gonna score if Austin Matthews doesn't score tonight because Jack Eichel and Jack Hughes and Kyle Connor do old scoring

05:52I'm not gonna be surprised. I think like team USA picking one goal score is super difficult

05:57Yeah, it's gonna be a fun tournament to play it out

05:59And if you're gonna ask me Tom whether or not I had the all-star game or a competition like this
