00:00PAS and Bersatu do not appear to be in sync on preparations for the 16th general election,

00:07with PAS saying it is unlikely to be held this year.

00:11PAS Deputy President Twan Ibrahim Twanman said the party was ready to face the polls

00:15at any time but believed G16 would more likely be called next year.

00:20He said it was not impossible for the election to be held early alongside state elections

00:25but ruled out it being held with the Sabah state election due in December.

00:29Twan Ibrahim said with the rising cost of living and the prime minister's failure

00:33to address various issues, he was certain G16 would not be called this year.

00:38He said it might instead be held simultaneously with the Malacca and Johor state elections.

00:43Last week, Bersatu Secretary General Azmin Ali said Mohideen Yassin had ordered the party

00:49machinery to prepare for a possible snap general election at the end of this year.

00:53However, a PAS source said the party was unlikely to follow Bersatu's lead, adding that the

00:58two PN components appear to be working separately.
