00:00Negotiators in Cebu and India have reached an agreement on the sale of agricultural products.
00:07It is possible that a direct flight from the Philippines to India will be opened.
00:12It is being studied.
00:14It is not yet decided.
00:18My report is Jesse Atienza of PTV Cebu.
00:22Indian nationals will sell their livestock and poultry products, even their spices.
00:33This is the business-to-business meet of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations
00:38and those in the business sector who are members of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
00:43The aim of the meeting is to improve the collaboration of the agri-sector of the two countries.
00:49The agri-food meet between India and Cebu has really been very timely
00:54because you know, over the past years, there's always been this issue of food shortage and security here in the Philippines.
01:01We hope that this food meet with the Indian delegation will be able to fill that gap.
01:07The Ambassador of India to the Philippines also expressed support and help to the national government
01:13and to the Food Security Emergency that was recently declared by the Department of Agriculture.
01:19I had a meeting with the Undersecretary in the Department of Agriculture two days ago
01:25while we were at this India-Philippines Agri-Food Summit in Manila.
01:32And I conveyed to her that India is ready to offer a supply of rice at government-to-government level.
01:42And we'll be very happy to support the Philippines in overcoming this crisis.
01:49In addition to the Indian Ambassador, they also plan to open a direct flight to the two countries
01:58for faster transportation and economic growth between the Philippines and India.
