How to report accidents with the Dubai Police app

00:00Hello everyone, this is Anjana Kumar. I'm a web reporter with Gulf News and I am talking to you about the convenience of

00:06using the Dubai Police app. Yesterday, I had a minor accident and I can't tell you how convenient it was

00:13using the Dubai Police app to just register the complaint and get over with it and it all happened in just 10 minutes.

00:21Okay, so I'm gonna just run you through the app in case you haven't

00:26downloaded the Dubai Police app to do that. So once you download the app and

00:33God forbid, but if you are in a situation where you are in an accident and you need to report it,

00:38just click on the Dubai app button. It will take you to the

00:45homepage which looks pretty much like this and just scroll down and click on the report traffic

00:53accident. Once you do that, you get

00:56of course, there are other things that you can do on the app as well. Like you can request for a police clearance certificate,

01:03you can report

01:05you know for a request for a night work permit as well as

01:09you know, you can pay your fines as well on the Dubai Police app.

01:13But in this situation where you need to report a traffic accident, click on

01:18that button there. It takes you to the home page where it first tells you to move

01:25to a safe location. Yes, that's very important.

01:27So when you are in an accident, you do not want to obstruct traffic behind and so take move your vehicle and the other

01:35vehicles which are involved in the accident to a safe location and then the app asks you to register

01:42the total number of vehicles that are involved in the accident. So as you can see down,

01:48there's a list. Once you do that, once you've clicked on the number of vehicles that are involved in the accident,

01:54you click on the next button and then it takes you to

01:59the

02:02to a little form like thing which you have to fill out.

02:05Basically, it asks you for details like the vehicle plate number, the license number and

02:11the good thing is that you don't have to really physically type out all this. All you need to do is

02:18scan or you know, scan a picture of the vehicle plate, scan a picture of your license,

02:27scan as well as the the part which is damaged on the car and

02:32all and you have to just upload all of that on the app. It's really convenient.

02:37It's super easy and it's super fast more importantly.

02:41Of course, don't forget to mention your mobile number, your email address because the report comes to you on your email

02:49address. So click on the start button and then there you go. You get this

02:55little page where it takes you to scan. So basically the first instruction is to scan the plate,

03:01take the camera close to your vehicle plate number and scan it and

03:07so that's it.

03:09Similarly, you do the same thing for all the vehicles that are involved and of course

03:14the app also asks you to mention

03:17if the details that you have entered and is of the vehicle that is liable. So basically

03:24the person or the driver who is responsible for the accident is considered to be liable.
