00:00This is my third collection with Marina Rinaldi, and this collection we decided to do a lot
00:14more light and airy for summertime.
00:16So there's beautiful white denim.
00:19I'm a sucker for fit, and Marina Rinaldi is all about fit, and I made sure that these
00:25jeans won't have to be tailored whatsoever, because I hate getting clothes tailored.
00:30We also did a little bit like rock and roll cowgirl vibes with studs and different jackets
00:35and dresses, and there's a little bit of flair that we added too with a bright silver jacket.
00:43If you really want to stunt on them, honey, that jacket is what you need.
00:52So I've been modeling for almost 20 years, and I have every year seen one girl, one editorial
00:59kind of evolve, but now in the last four years, everything has shifted.
01:04Everything has changed, and finally people are having the conversation, but beyond just
01:09having the conversation, they're doing something about it.
01:12They're putting Curvy Girls on the runway, in campaigns, on TV, in films, and that's
01:18exciting, because now we're not just being put in a category, which usually was just
01:25like in a catalog in the back of a department store next to the food court where nobody
01:30could really see us.
01:31Now we're out, we're proud, and we're talking about our curves, and finally the fashion
01:37industry has caught up.
01:38Now where do we need to go?
01:39There's still a lot of room to grow, and I always tell people success doesn't happen
01:44overnight.
01:46Success can happen overnight, but then it doesn't last for a very long time, and this
01:50is what we want.
01:51We want the steady, slow, slow and steady pace that can really have us last for a lifetime,
01:58because that's what I'm here for.
01:59I want to make sure that the next generation after me doesn't have to fight as hard as
02:02I have.
02:03Oh my goodness, I mean there's so many things that people have bestowed upon us that are
02:15negative, that we don't work out, that we're unhealthy just because we're curvy, or because
02:20we go to the gym, we want to lose weight.
02:23It's not the case.
02:24A lot of us are just healthy and happy with our curves and want to live in the body that
02:29we were given.
02:30We don't want to have to alter them just because society has always told us that we need to
02:33alter our bodies.
02:36I also feel like in the modeling world, people haven't really taken curvy models that seriously,
02:43so when I show up on set, I'm coming prepared, and I'm going to model fiercely, and I'm going
02:47to show them that just because of my curves, my weight, my height, and how loud and proud
02:52I am, doesn't mean I can't do my job and do it exceptionally.
03:032018 was awesome.
03:04I mean, there was a lot of growth in my personal life, in my business, behind the scenes, so
03:102019 is going to be like takeover time, baby, yeah!
03:14But I don't know, 2018 was a good year for me.
03:18I turned 31.
03:19I almost said 30, and that would have been a lie, but everything for me is a positive,
03:27and even if it's a negative that's being thrown at me, I try to just learn how to grow from
03:31it and make it a teachable moment.
03:40Oh my god, I mean, the queen, I mean, hands down, one of the greatest athletes that we've
03:44ever had, and I got to interview her for 30 minutes, it was crazy!
03:51She's awesome.
03:52She was a gem.
03:54She really opened up.
03:55I was able to talk to her about a few things that were heavy on my heart, as far as the
04:00bodysuit that she wore and what happened with the referee, and I applauded her.
04:07There's not enough women that are in media right now that are really, truly standing
04:12up for themselves the way that she did, and I think that she's such a role model for so
04:17many types of women, so I was really glad to be able to interview her.
04:28Oh, hands down, pretty big deal, season two, I need Michelle Obama.
04:35I need Michelle Obama.
04:37Everything.
04:38Well, you know, I've read the book, actually, I'm not going to lie, I didn't read the book,
04:44I listened to it on Audible, and I just think it's so interesting, I'm not going to lie,
04:48I think it's just so interesting to really understand where she came from and how she
04:52was raised, and that really, truly made the woman that she is today and the wife that
04:56she is today, and I really know that she could have run the country right after Barack.
05:02Maybe she'll run, maybe one day.
05:08I'm definitely focused on season two, Pretty Big Deal, I've got a couple of TV shows coming
05:15out, I'm launching some exciting beauty things, and just more world domination.
05:24But I'm really excited to have more conversations on Pretty Big Deal, because this truly is
05:29something that's huge on my heart, to just be able to talk about different social issues
05:32in America and the world, and to have different types of people on, I think that it's my responsibility
05:38with my followers and having the platform that I do.
