00:00Every single year there is a Dubai Shopping Festival.
00:10I have somehow either been like deep in shoot or I have been totally preoccupied and this
00:17year it just came at the most beautiful timing where I was told in advance, I was planning
00:21where should I go with my family for New Year's, where should I go for New Year's and I get
00:25this invitation from DSF saying you know like where the shopping festival is starting and
00:29I was like you know what I'm going to do Dubai for New Year's because it's a shopping festival
00:32I'm finally going to get to experience it and my whole family is going to be with me.
00:38I'm actually not a shopaholic, it's strange, it's like there are certain moments I have
00:43where I'm just like let's just go shop girls or something like that but most of the time
00:49I think what happens is you know we end up getting styled and dressed up a lot and so
00:56for us like we're very used to like the influx of like clothes and shoes and jewelry and
01:03outflux also like it comes and goes and coming out going but there are I think times when
01:09like it really kind of gives you like a guilty pleasure to go and pick up something that
01:15you and like you really want and yeah and so like yeah there are those certain days
01:21and those certain times I think I honestly think Dubai brings that with me.
01:24I see, it brings a shopaholic to you?
01:26It does. Paris, probably L.A. and Dubai I think are like the three places that do that to me.
01:36Dostana's director is who I'm working with right now, Bhavin Vansukhani and that is a
01:44film called Drive.
01:45Yes, okay.
01:46So when it comes out, 2019 is going to actually start, it's going to, we tentatively either
01:53have February or March, we're still shuttling between the two months but it's good to have
01:58actually a release right in the, like right in the start of the year.
02:01I've always been like such a huge fan of like just franchises like Fast and Furious and
02:05you know just you know heist films and you know like Ocean's Eleven and stuff like that
02:12and they're so much fun, I think they're so entertaining for the audience and Dostana
02:16Vansukhani has written such an interesting script with Drive.
02:20So yeah and it's the first time I'm working with Sushant Singh Rajput.
02:23I know, he's a pretty interesting actor as well.
02:25He's a fantastic actor.
02:26I've learned so much from him like throughout the entire shoot he's introduced me to so
02:30many amazing books, so many different like techniques and acting and schools and teachers
02:37and you know like amazing stuff.
02:42Oh I know, I had so much fun getting dressed up for all of them.
02:45Yeah, you guys really like set the dance floor on fire.
02:48It was fun, it was honestly like and it's funny because it all happened at the same
02:52time as well.
02:53It was raining weddings.
02:54Sonam's was in June, so that was like but then like literally six months later three
02:59weddings, huge weddings happened at the same time and we had a ball like going to all of
03:05them and just like seeing you know our acquaintances and people that were like that we work with
03:11and people that we know you know in one of the most happiest moments of their lives.
03:17It was really special actually.
03:22Not really actually.
03:24You know it's one thing actually that I don't think we should set our, live our lives according
03:32to that.
03:33I think that's the wrong standard to set for yourself because you're your own and you can
03:37do whatever you want and it's like actually when people keep asking me like oh are you
03:41next or are you planning and I'm just like you must be thinking and I'm just like why
03:46should it be that way?
03:47Why is it the girl who always gets asked this question like all the things like every single
03:51time like we're completely free to be single for the rest of our lives or be our own people,
03:56be our own person, be independent like I'm kind of enjoying the fact that like I'm an
04:02independent girl and I you know if I want to have a family I can actually have a family
04:07on my own right now.
04:09Having a partner is definitely you know it's a fantastic thing, it's a beautiful thing
04:14and if you find it that's great but you shouldn't beat yourself up for not having that.
04:22It was, it was and it was a very important time as well for all of us, for the entire
04:26industry, men, women, everyone alike and it was about time that the conversation on sexual
04:33harassment or gender inequality had come up in our industry because it may have only
04:39been specific to Bollywood at the time but it is an issue that runs rampant in every
04:45single industry and the fact is it brought, it opened up everyone's eyes to the fact that
04:51this is completely unacceptable and harassment at work and just I mean sexual harassment
04:58is just and discrimination is something that cannot be tolerated and it was fantastic that
05:05this was something that at least you know brought a lot of brave hearts out there to
05:11speak you know about their experiences so that nobody felt alone but at the same time
05:16it was also fantastic that we now know that there's a safe zone.
05:21I'm excited, like I know when I come to Dubai I buy like a ton of like makeup stuff,
05:28hair stuff, accessories, obviously they have all the brands here, also it's my sister
05:35and my sister-in-law's first time here, it's actually like yeah my entire family,
05:39like my brother's their first time here so it is and the last time we were all together
05:45was almost 10 years ago, it was in 2010.
05:48I think that's the most amazing thing about Dubai, it's like we were spoiled for choice,
05:53I'm like okay guys do you guys want to go ski or do you guys want to go skydive or do
05:56you guys want to go on the hot air balloon or do you guys want to do desert safari or
05:59do you guys want to do this or do you guys want to do that and they were like we're here
06:02for four days.
