00:09top stories at this hour.

00:11Tens of millions of people along the Philadelphia to Boston Corridor rushed to get home and

00:15settle in as a fearsome storm swirled in with the potential for hurricane force winds and

00:21one to three feet of snow that could paralyze the Northeast for days. Forecasters said the

00:26storm would build into a blizzard. More than 7,700 flights in and out of the Northeast

00:32were cancelled and many of them may not take off again until Wednesday.

00:36US President Barack Obama gently nudged India Tuesday to fulfill its Constitution's pledge

00:42to uphold the dignity of the individual, drawing on his own experience as a minority in the

00:47United States as he closed out a three-day visit to New Delhi. Speaking to an audience

00:51of young people, Obama said that while he has had extraordinary opportunities, there

00:56were moments in my life where I have been treated differently because of the colour

00:59of my skin. Obama will fly a 30-member delegation including top officials and Republican foreign

01:05policy veterans to Riyadh today to meet new Saudi Arabian King Salman. Tunisian Prime

01:11Minister-designate Habib El-Sid began new negotiations over his cabinet after most political

01:16parties said they would oppose his initial choice of ministers in a parliamentary vote.

01:22Rejection by Parliament would mean newly installed President Beji Qaed al-Sebsi would have to

01:26appoint a new Premier to try to form another cabinet.

01:29Thomas Burdick stunned out-of-sorts third seed Rafael Nadal in straight sets to reach

01:35the semi-finals at the Australian Open this morning. He beat Nadal 6-2, 6-0, 7-6 and will

01:41face either Britain's Andy Murray or Australian Nick Raguios for a place in the finals.

01:47Emma Watson will play Belle in Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. Walt Disney

01:52announced the casting of the Harry Potter star, setting the prettier half of the romance

01:56at the centre of the fairy tale. Who will play the Beast hasn't yet been announced.

02:01And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 26 degrees Celsius, dropping

02:05to 14 degrees at night.
