00:00Ladies of Indian origin from around the world gathered in the UAE to compete in the Glamorous
00:20Miss India Worldwide.
00:21Forty contestants from various countries between the age of 18 and 27 participated in the pageant
00:27at Al Raha Beach Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
00:29Three of the representatives from the GCC Priya De Silva of Bahrain, Niharika Pathak
00:34of Oman and Sana Monga of the UAE made it to the top ten.
00:38The first role model of mine was Miss Sushmita Sen who was Miss Universe because the poise
00:45and the grace she had at that time I think nobody could beat her.
00:49I absolutely admire Priyanka Chopra even she is a beauty pageant holder.
00:53I love that she is so multi-talented.
00:56She acts well.
00:57She has won lots of international awards.
01:00She also sings and not only for the Indian crowd even the international crowd.
01:04I see myself following her footsteps one day.
01:07She is my role model.
01:08I think my role model would be three that's Sushmita Sen, Priyanka Chopra and also Lisa
01:14Ray.
01:15It's their presence.
01:16They have beauty with brains and also the courage to fight battles.
01:20For example, Lisa Ray recovering from cancer was a very good example of that.
01:24The ladies have shade in their evening gowns and ethnic dresses.
01:28Their pageant also had a talent and a question and answer portion.
01:31Monica Gill from the US was crowned this year's Miss India Worldwide.
01:35Sindfer Threjan from Switzerland was first runner-up and Priya De Silva from Bahrain
01:40was second runner-up.
01:41Gill was crowned by Miss India Worldwide 2013 Nihal Bugaita.
01:45Being hair-impaired, Bugaita is the first differently abled contestant to win the prestigious
01:49crown.
01:55My journey is Miss India Worldwide.
01:57I've been traveling around the world.
01:59It's been a great experience.
02:01I've been visiting deaf schools and disabled schools too.
02:04It has been really good.
02:06It's definitely been life-changing.
02:08The new Miss India Worldwide will receive a cash prize of US$8,000 and will be part
02:13of the various projects related to the pageant during the year.
02:17For many contestants, the pageant also opened opportunities to join the Bollywood movie
02:21industry.
