00:00A great deal more than just boats. Now in its 22nd year, the Dubai International Boat

00:15Show is the region's largest maritime event. 26,500 people will descend on Dubai Marina

00:21over four days to witness some of the spectacular boats, super yachts and marine products on

00:26offer. And there's certainly no shortage of them. Almost 850 exhibitors are taking

00:31part this year. That's a record. We've come down to take a closer look at just what's

00:36on offer. We're on board the Majesty 135, one of the finest super yachts on offer here

00:40at the Dubai International Boat Show. I'm joined by Erwin Bamps, the Chief Operating

00:44Officer of Gulfcraft, a UAE-based company exhibiting here at the show. Erwin, welcome.

00:49Thank you very much. Tell me a bit about the Majesty 135. What's on offer here? The 135

00:54is the biggest we're showing this year in the Dubai Boat Show. And it's a three-deck

00:58super yacht with some gold leaf finish above us here with folding balconies. It's an ocean-going

01:03yacht that we are presenting here to the world. How important is the Dubai International Boat

01:09Show? How big is it in terms of the world? Are people talking about Dubai? The Dubai

01:12event is representing what's happening in the whole of the GCC. It's truly a gateway

01:18to the region. And the Dubai Boat Show, therefore, not only invites people from all of the surrounding

01:24countries, but it's also showing to the world what yachting and boating is like in this

01:30part of the world. It shows a twist of yachting and boating that we are offering today, which

01:35is slightly different than what they could find in the Mediterranean or in Australia,

01:39for instance. And in terms of Gulfcraft, you're a UAE-based company, that's right? That's

01:43right. Tell us a bit more about Gulfcraft itself. We are one of those homegrown brands

01:46that is proudly presenting marine lifestyle products to the world. This time that we have

01:53been actually also recognised globally for this ability, as of December 2013, we were

02:00rated as the 10th largest super yacht builder in the world. And in terms of marine life

02:05here in the UAE, how important do you think that is to the history of the UAE, the culture

02:09of the UAE? Do you think it's something that's embedded in the people here? Yeah, it is.

02:13And I think that today, even more so, Dubai is centring the marine lifestyle and waterfront

02:19developments at the very core of the city, the city-state, and is even showing the world

02:25how that adds value to everybody's life. UAE-based firms like Gulfcraft are among hundreds

02:30which are increasingly seeing the Dubai International Boat Show as an important part of their calendar

02:34year. As this year's show wraps up and the boats here sail away, Dubai's reputation

02:39as a platform for exhibitors to showcase boats and products to the world's marine
