00:00There's news coming in from Israel about that saying that Lebanon talks are to be held soon.
00:06Reports say that Washington is to host Israel-Lebanon talks.
00:10According to reports, talks are expected to start next week.
00:15Earlier, a member Netanyahu had instructed the cabinet to begin direct negotiations with Lebanon as soon as possible.
00:22The negotiations will focus on disarming Hezbollah and establishing peaceful relations between Israel and Lebanon.
00:28There's been quite a back and forth when it comes to the ceasefire deal and if Lebanon is included in
00:34it or not.
00:34Lebanon has been facing huge attacks from the Israel side.
00:38And now we're getting the statement from Netanyahu where they're saying that talks with Lebanon are expected to start next
00:44week.
00:45And Washington is going to host the Israel-Lebanon talks and these talks are going to start next week.
00:51For more on that, we have Ashraf Vani joining us.
00:53Ashraf, we're getting the statement from Israel where they're now focusing on Lebanon
00:57and they're saying that soon we are going to see talks being held in Washington about Lebanon starting next week.
01:04What can we really expect?
01:07It is a pressure which has been put not only by the international community on Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu particularly,
01:14but also now it is being known that probably the U.S. President has asked the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
01:23Netanyahu
01:24to de-escalate the ongoing attacks in Lebanon.
01:29We have seen yesterday was the bloodiest day in the ongoing war in Lebanon where more than 250 people got
01:37killed
01:37and more than 150 airstrikes carried out by the IDF across the Lebanon.
01:44So now this will give some kind of hope for the peace talks which are scheduled on Saturday in Islamabad
01:52between Iran and U.S.
01:54after the announcement of the ceasefire, two-week ceasefire between the two countries.
01:58There was also that probably this ongoing escalation in the Lebanon by Israel could hamper the talks.
02:07That is why it is being known that now Benjamin Netanyahu has given this announcement
02:14that the talks between Lebanon and Israel will be held in Washington.
02:21And one of the interesting things is that the date set for these talks is Tuesday
02:26and the talks will be led by the ambassador of Israel in the U.S.
02:32and also with the president of Lebanon in Washington.
02:39Right.
02:40So these talks are going to happen in Washington.
02:42This we are seeing after Lebanon has seen deadly attacks where Ashraf mentions that more than 200 people have died.
02:49Thank you so much for joining in Ashraf with those inputs.
