Trio jailed after attempting to flee from police following attempted burglary in Chesterfield

A trio have been jailed after attempting to flee from police following attempted burglary in Chesterfield - with a police car being rammed during efforts to stop the offenders.

00:00Burglars, whose DNA was found on balaclavas they left in a car, have been jailed.

00:04Our officers pursued a stolen VW Golf R, being driven on clone plates,

00:08following a burglary in Chestfield.

00:10During the pursuit, a stinger was deployed,

00:12and the car was eventually abandoned, with three men running from it.

00:17The driver, Daniel Lloyd, was arrested that night.

00:20His accomplices, Leighton Doran and Marcus Lawrence, were caught

00:23after their DNA was found on balaclavas they'd worn for the burglary,

00:26which they'd left in the Golf.

00:28The three men have now been locked up for a combined total of 22 years.
