If Kanye West had a football, I think he would be spiking it today, because I think he feels
00:06
like he pulled one over on large numbers of people who saw his Super Bowl ad.
00:13
Now, where you are, you might not have seen this, because it only ran in three cities.
00:18
No, no, no, it may have run in more.
00:20
The local stations may have run it all over the country.
00:23
But he planned, the buy was for Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Philly.
00:28
But this ad, a 30-second spot, which cost him $8 million, was promoting his website,
00:33
which might seem innocent.
00:35
It's a bizarre ad. I mean, he doesn't say anything, essentially.
00:38
It's very similar to the local ad he bought last year during the Super Bowl.
00:41
This is now a thing he's doing, but...
00:44
He says nothing.
00:46
Literally next to nothing.
00:49
He just talks about getting a grill, he spent all the money on this grill, and...
00:54
Um, um, um, um, um, and it's over.
00:57
And it's over.
00:58
So, the problem, if you saw that ad, you might have gone to Yeezy.com.
01:04
And there was only one item. It's sort of like Raising Cane, but the Nazi version.
01:09
The Nazi version, instead of chicken fingers.
01:12
Right.
01:13
You get this.
01:14
That is the one thing that is for sale at Yeezy.com.
01:18
White t-shirt with a swastika.
01:20
Kind of says it all.
01:21
It sure does.
01:22
It sure does.
01:23
It's pretty unbelievable in light of the rant that he went on on X recently,
01:26
announcing he's a Nazi, calling himself Yadav Gittler.
01:29
Now he has a single t-shirt with a swastika on it.
01:31
And if you needed a reminder of who he is and whether he was sincere about these beliefs, here it is.
01:36
But the scary thing is he's moving a lot of this merch.
01:39
There's sources that say he moved 100,000 of these shirts for $2 million in revenue.
01:45
So, it's pretty incredible commentary on where we are as a country right now.
01:48
Wow, that's shocking.
01:49
Maybe not shocking.
01:51
But it's really troubling.
01:53
Yes, definitely very troubling.
01:55
So, the question, how did the ad get on?
01:57
Right.
01:58
Because this would have been something he had to buy.
02:00
Well, and not just that.
02:02
On Thursday and Friday is when he went on that anti-Semitic rant.
02:05
Where he flat out said, I'm a Nazi.
02:07
Yeah, I love Hitler.
02:09
Said all that stuff.
02:10
So, this was a couple of days before the Super Bowls with the question, why did the ad run?
02:14
Well, here is the process that we're told.
02:17
This is the approval process.
02:20
On Friday, as he was posting that stuff, the ad goes to people at Fox for approval.
02:27
And what they're looking at, they're basing it purely on the content of the ad.
02:31
And it looked innocent enough.
02:33
It was just him.
02:34
He says nothing.
02:35
And there was nothing on the website.
02:36
When you went to Yeezy.com on Friday, it was still as usual.
02:40
It was blank.
02:41
No, it wasn't blank.
02:42
Oh, I thought it was blank.
02:43
Usual Yeezy merchandise that would be there.
02:46
Oh, right, right, right.
02:47
Shoes, shirts.
02:49
It seemed innocent.
02:50
Body suits.
02:51
It seemed innocent.
02:52
And so, it gets approved.
02:54
No one was looking at what he was putting on his social media.
02:59
Now, we're told that he bought the ad through an ad agency.
03:03
And then the ad agency goes to Fox.
03:06
We're told it is typically the ad agency's job to vet what the client has going on outside of this commercial.
03:17
We are told Fox had issues with the ad agency not giving a heads up on this thing.
03:23
Right.
03:24
Well, here's what I also don't understand.
03:25
Since 2022, he's had these noxious views.
03:28
So, why is he not on a sort of do not fly list for commercials during the Super Bowl?
03:32
It's not just the content of the ad is maybe innocuous, but Kanye West has been this figure for a number of years.
03:38
Because he's always forgiven.
03:40
You know what I mean?
03:41
It's like, at a point, people kind of just brush it off and say, well, it's Kanye.
03:44
He was having an episode.
03:45
This and that.
03:46
I mean, he gets.
03:47
But he's no different than David Duke now.
03:49
David Duke would never be able to get a commercial buy even if he was in a dentist's chair.
03:53
I agree with you.
03:54
But I'm just saying I think he's a one off in that sense.
03:57
I got it.
03:58
But you know what, though, Derek?
03:59
I don't know.
04:00
If David Duke had the $8 million and wanted to do an ad, I don't know.
04:04
These days in the environment of the country and everyone embracing free speech.
04:09
You're right.
04:10
Then maybe he would get the ad.
04:12
Well, I never thought in a million years that I would feel bad for Kim Kardashian and for Kanye's children.
04:19
And while the Super Bowl couldn't get him off, I'm glad he's at least off from X.
04:24
Yeah.
04:25
Although that was not over the anti-Semitism.
04:26
That was over him with pornography.
04:28
Right.
04:29
By the way, that ad is not running anymore on any Fox stations as a result of what's on the website now.
04:36
Right.
