Which are the most vulnerable social groups in the EU when it comes to keeping the house warm in winter?

A Eurostat research found almost 11% of people in the EU were unable to keep their house warm enough.

The highest shares were reported in Spain and Portugal,

almost 21%, followed by Bulgaria, Lithuania and Greece,

while the lowest rates were found in Luxembourg, Finland, Slovenia, Austria and Estonia.

The most vulnerable social groups are single parents with children,

almost 19% of them struggle with low temperatures in their households.

Mediterranean nations are the hardest hit, with peaks of 42% in Cyprus, 34.5% in Greece and 34% in Spain.
