00:00I didn't know, you never know how emotionally someone's going to be or someone's going to
00:15connect with the work and I feel like the longer the film is out there the deeper it
00:20connects with people.
00:21I think that when someone gets a bit of information about it and they can go in just not fully
00:24surprised then they accept the form and the ideas a little bit easier.
00:29What do you think of the movie?
00:39I always felt kids are going to see this movie.
00:41I think kids are going to automatically be interested for a lot of reasons.
00:44I was really super concerned that we keep it at a sophisticated level for the adults
00:48and again for that resonance of emotion that we needed.
00:52We all try to write the personal thing, of course, and it's rare that the personal thing
00:57also overlaps with the thing that the audience likes.
01:00So I guess because A Real Pain is popular and it's the personal thing it gives me a
01:04little more confidence to try to write more personal things rather than try to kind of
01:09take my skill set and shapeshift it into something more mainstream.
01:13In a way, yeah, it is almost a study case of journalism and how to deal with it.
01:21It's a film about the importance but also the complexity of crisis reporting.
