00:00Severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall to

00:04impact parts of Victoria and much of New South Wales today and again on Monday.

00:10We can see that there with today's storm map. You can see widespread storms

00:14across much of northern and eastern New South Wales and even into much of

00:18central and eastern parts of Victoria as well. But our particular concern are

00:22those that live in this red highlighted area where we're likely to see severe

00:26thunderstorms from around the Dubbo area all the way through Wagga Wagga,

00:29Albury-Wodonga and even into the very far north of Melbourne as well. In these

00:34red areas we could see severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging

00:38winds and heavy rainfall today and that could lead to flash flooding of

00:41businesses, roads and property. We could also see dangerous driving conditions

00:46with these storms as well as any we could see damage to homes, properties and

00:50businesses, trees down and power lines down particularly with those damaging

00:54winds. So very a stormy day on the way this afternoon and we could see even

00:58bigger storm day on the way on Monday through much of inland New South Wales

01:02and northeastern Victoria with another round of large hail, damaging winds and

01:07heavy rainfall that can cause a number of these issues. So let's look at that in

01:11more detail. Firstly this afternoon widespread

01:14shower and thunderstorm activity across much of northern and eastern New South

01:18Wales and much of eastern and northeastern Victoria as well. Could even

01:23see a few showers and storms to the north of Melbourne. Then as we move into

01:26tonight into the early hours of Monday we're likely to see that storm risk

01:30continue through parts of New South Wales and eastern Victoria. We could see

01:34some heavy falls possibly developing through eastern parts of Victoria and

01:37southeast parts of New South Wales and that too could lead to some flash and

01:42possible minor riverine flooding. So watch out for that in far eastern

01:45Victoria and southeastern New South Wales. Then as we move through the day on

01:50Monday you can see widespread rain and thunderstorms across much of New South

01:54Wales and again through eastern Victoria with another round of severe

01:59thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall and we could

02:03see that rain really increase through eastern and central parts of New South

02:06Wales on Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning with possible heavy falls from

02:10around Newcastle all the way down through Wollongong and possibly the

02:13south coast. While showers and storms will continue further inland and then

02:17move up into southeast Queensland and northeast New South Wales on Tuesday.

02:21But how much rainfall is going to fall? Well as you can see here we could see

02:25widespread falls of 25 to 50 millimetres through eastern Victoria and much of

02:30central and eastern New South Wales and we could see even heavier falls in

02:34excess of 100 millimetres possible through parts of eastern Victoria and

02:37particularly around central and southeastern parts of New South Wales

02:41particularly where those storms tend to heavy rainfall and that could lead to

02:45flash and possible minor riverine flooding but you can see a wet and

02:48stormy few days on the way. So with all this severe thunderstorm activity in

02:52Victoria and New South Wales today and on Monday make sure you stay up to date
