00:00Hello there, good afternoon to you, welcome to your latest update from the Metafis.
00:05Grey is the main colour on offer for most of us this weekend, or ready to kick off Saturday.
00:10It is widely cloudy.
00:12There are parts of Western Scotland, some fringes of Pembrokeshire and Western Wales
00:15that are managing to see some sunshine in play, but elsewhere it is rather dull and
00:20drab, outbreaks of rain and drizzle.
00:23These will continue across England and Wales this afternoon, some showers pushing into
00:26eastern Scotland as well.
00:28There will be a wintry flavour in amongst all of that, some snow over the hills, maybe
00:32a touch of sleet to lower levels as well.
00:34But underneath the cloud, it is going to be feeling rather cold, temperatures really struggling,
00:39much of a 4 or 6 degrees Celsius.
00:43As this system of rain and drizzle does push its way ever so slightly northwards, we could
00:46see a few more clear spells developing across the very far south of England this evening
00:50and overnight, and certainly will hold onto clear skies across north-western Scotland
00:54and parts of Northern Ireland as well.
00:56Beneath the clear skies, it is going to turn chilly with some frost, maybe some freezing
01:00fog and icy stretches where surfaces remain untreated.
01:04If you're sticking around the cloud though, temperatures will remain on the positive side
01:08of the temperature scale, around 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.
01:12Despite the chilly start in the far north and south though, it's here where we're going
01:16to see the most lengthy spells of sunshine to kick off Sunday, particularly for areas
01:20of Scotland will hold onto that throughout the day, and parts of Hampshire down towards
01:25Cornwall should hopefully see a brighter day as well.
01:27These central areas are going to hold onto a lot of cloud, again, very grey, drab and
01:31dull, and damp into the far south-east of England as well into the afternoon.
01:36Temperatures on the thermometer perhaps up by a degree or so, now closer towards 7 or
01:408 degrees Celsius, but I think most of us are not going to notice that much of a difference,
01:45particularly where the cloud holds in play, but also we're going to see an easterly breeze
01:50set itself back up once again, and that is going to add an extra windchill factor on
01:55top of things as we head into Sunday.
01:58We hold onto a very similar picture into the evening as well, that rain in the far south-east
02:02just pushing its way southwards, but into Monday, high pressure still holds on across
02:06Scandinavia and that easterly breeze is still going to be in play, so again, windchill factor
02:11once again added on top of the cold air that is already in play.
02:15There will be plenty more updates on what you can expect during the next week on our
02:19YouTube channel, so do subscribe for all of those, otherwise we'll see you again here
02:23very soon.
02:24Bye bye.
