00:13This demand is a consequence of the deferred resignation offer presented by the government,
00:18which allows federal employees to leave their jobs while receiving pay until the end of
00:23September.
00:24However, it has been criticized as a solution that does not address the needs.
00:28In this sense, it is worth noting that the unions demand the government to implement
00:33a policy that is legal rather than arbitrary, illegal and short-term ultimatum that workers
00:39cannot comply with.
00:40According to reports, at least 40,000 of these employees have already accepted the agreement,
00:46which represents about 2% of the nearly 2 million federal employees on record.
