00:00Well what we're announcing today is part of our plan for change to deliver the energy future that
00:04we need as a country and we're announcing a whole change to trying to remove as much red tape and
00:10regulation as possible in the nuclear sector to build the next generation of nuclear technology
00:16because of course Britain used to lead the world in nuclear projects but in the last few decades
00:21we've fallen way behind and not built any new nuclear power stations in this country. The next
00:26set of modular reactors are much smaller and can be placed at different places around the UK and
00:32what we're doing today is saying instead of the government designating only eight places in the
00:36country where nuclear can be built that actually we want this to be a developer-led approach where
00:40people look at the demand needs for example around AI and data centres and comes to us with where we
00:46could build these new reactors in the future and that delivers on our energy security on our clean
00:51power objectives but also helps us build the economic growth that we need in the future.
