00:00Well, I think what the president did was by using the threat of economic sanctions and

00:04the usage of tariffs to force these concessions as it relates to border security.

00:08I think what's interesting, Tom, very quickly is this again is another example of the Trump

00:13administration elevating border security and immigration to the highest priorities of the

00:17United States.

00:19But more specifically, Mexico promised to deploy National Guardsmen to the northern

00:24border there to try to crack down on the flow of drugs into the United States, and Canada

00:29made similar concessions as it relates to border security.

00:32So interesting in the sense that the administration's demands to stop the tariffs were focused pretty

00:37much exclusively on issues related to border security and immigration.
