PAGASA monitors cloud clusters over Mindanao for potential LPA formation

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Wednesday, Feb. 5, that it is closely monitoring cloud clusters over Mindanao for the potential formation of a Low-Pressure Area (LPA) as the northeast monsoon and easterlies continue to affect Luzon and the rest of the country. 00:00This is the latest satellite animation of the weather in the Philippines.

00:04As of Wednesday, the cold North-East monsoon is still expected.

00:09It has already affected a large part of the Luzon region.

00:11So, it is a bit strong now.

00:13And it is also expected to be weak until it rains properly.

00:16Like Visayas and Mindanao, there is still the effect of a hot East release.

00:20Or the wind from the east, which also brings rains.

00:24Especially in the part of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.

00:28Based on our latest satellite animation,

00:30we have cloud clusters that are visible in the east of Mindanao.

00:34Although the chance of it being a storm is low,

00:37we are monitoring it now for possible formation as a low-pressure area.

00:42Today, here in a large part of Luzon, there is still the effect of a North-East monsoon.

00:47It will still bring light to moderate rains here in Cagayan Valley,

00:51Cordillera Administrative Region,

00:53and the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.

00:57So, make sure that we still have umbrellas,

00:59and to be careful of floods and landslides.

01:02Here in the remaining part of Luzon,

01:04it is still expected to be cloudy and sometimes cloudy skies.

01:08But then, there are places where it is just morning and the weather is gloomy.

01:11Including the remaining part of Calabarzon, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Oriental Mindoro, and Marinduque.

01:18While the remaining part of Luzon is cloudy,

01:21and there is a chance of dry rains or landslides, especially in the southern portions.

01:26Here in Metro Manila, the temperature is still expected to be between 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.

01:31It is still cold in the Cordillera Region, including Baguio City, between 16 to 24 degrees.

01:36While in a large part of Northern Luzon, the temperature is no more than 30 degrees Celsius for today.

01:43To our fellowmen here in Palawan,

01:45the part is still expected to be cloudy and sometimes cloudy skies.

01:49And there is still a chance of dry rains, especially in the southern portions.

01:52In Visayas, because of the Easter Leaks, there will be the most rain.

01:56This is the Eastern Summer and Southern Lete before noon.

01:59While the remaining part of Visayas is partly cloudy and sometimes cloudy skies until noon.

02:05But by noon, a large part of Eastern Visayas and Central Visayas will be flooded.

02:11It will also be accompanied by dry rains or landslides because of the Easter Leaks.

02:17The temperature in Metro Cebu is between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.

02:22To our fellowmen in Mindanao,

02:24please bear in mind that if you are in Silangang Party,

02:26including the Caraga Region and Davao Oriental,

02:29because of the Easter Leaks, there will be scattered rains and thunderstorms.

02:32So, there is still a chance of rain and landslides.

02:34The remaining part of Mindanao is partly cloudy and often cloudy skies by morning.

02:40Then, by afternoon and evening, it will be mostly cloudy skies.

02:43And there is a higher chance of landslides and landslides.

02:48The temperature in Metro Davao and Zamboanga City is between 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.

02:54Currently, because of the strong Easter Leaks,

03:43tomorrow and on Friday, that's February 6 to 7,

03:46the effects of the Amihan winds will continue here in Bukagayan Valley,

03:49Cordillera Region, and Aurora.

03:51It will still bring light to moderate rains and low temperatures.

03:55But the shear line will return.

03:57This is the coast of Amihan and the Easter Leaks.

03:59A large part of the country will have rains.

04:02And sometimes, it will be heavy.

04:04This includes almost the entire Calabarzon, as well as Mimaropa, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga Region.

04:11This includes nearby areas such as Metro Manila.

04:14It will be rainy, especially on Friday.

04:16This is also the part of Davao Region and Northern Mindanao.

04:19That's why we are just now warning them of possible floods and landslides.

04:24And most likely, we will also have issuances such as weather advisories and even heavy rainfall warnings.

04:32For the sake of time, over the weekend,

04:34the shear line will rise and will affect a large part of Central and Southern Luzon,

04:38as well as a part of Bukagayan Valley.

04:40While the remaining part of Bukagayan Valley and Cordillera and Ilocos Region,

04:46will still be affected by the Northeast Monsoon,
