00:00We have approved RM1 billion for Mada, and we will launch it at the end of this month inshallah.

00:10So that in the area of the paddy field, the addition of RM1 billion can guarantee an increase in productivity.

00:21At least it can meet about 56% of the current needs.

00:27Up to now, there have been no drastic steps that have been taken to increase productivity.

00:35Including 2020, 2021, and 2022, there have been no drastic steps.

00:42Only after the government of Mada has increased, then the special aid has increased.

00:50Added RM228 million in 2023, and added in 2024, RM600 a year for each paddy field.

01:06Special aid for paddy fields, I have discussed with paddy fields.

01:15But the paddy field contract was renewed in 2021.

01:21For 10 years.

01:23So we want to review, but what I can ask is, please give a little help.

01:28So he gave RM60 million for paddy field special assistance to affected paddy fields in the north.

01:34Then we added the paddy planting scheme.

01:38The starting fund in 2024, RM50 million.

01:42The price of paddy field purchase, we only added it in 2024.

01:53And of course it is high in Sabah Sarawak because the price of rice is too high in Sabah Sarawak.

01:58So for 2023-2024, we specifically allocated RM420 million for Sabah Sarawak,

02:07to cover the price that is a bit too high.

02:12Then the subsidy scheme for paddy price was increased.

02:17Clean paddy, RM500 per ton, instead of RM360.

02:24Then the budget and so on.

02:26Including RM1 billion that we have approved and will be launched.

02:32Next week, the Minister of Agriculture will submit a ministerial paper

02:40to clarify and announce the increase.

02:45But remember, this increase in paddy price will increase the price of rice for consumers.

02:53So how do we balance this?

02:56Increasing the price for paddy will increase the price for consumers.

03:01We don't want it to increase for consumers.

03:04So far, I have discussed with the Ministry of Finance,

03:08so that the government will cover the subsidy,

03:12so that the price of paddy for consumers will not be increased.

03:20This means that the government will cover around RM150 million for 6 months.

03:25That will be finalized in a short time.
