00:00The new agreement on the 200 pesos across-the-board wage increase is now being passed on to the lawmakers.

00:08This is what the Labor Secretary, Benvenido Laguesma, said this morning.

00:13According to him, the Department of Labor and Employment will only provide technical input on this,

00:19like its effect on the employment status in the country,

00:22along with the effect on the businessmen and many others.

00:27Recently, the House Committee on Labor and Employment passed the substitute bill

00:32that requires a 200 pesos wage hike in the country.

00:37The duty of the Department of Labor and Employment, on the premise that I said,

00:42they are the ones who have the mandate and responsibility to pass or pass the law.

00:48If there is a law, we will implement it.

00:51Our duty is to provide technical inputs.
