AI on the rise among European businesses: How are they using it?

Large enterprises are adopting Artificial Intelligence more than small and medium-sized ones, with significant differences in the way each of them uses the technology.

00:00Which European countries are using AI the most in business?

00:09Over 13% of businesses in the European Union have embraced artificial intelligence,

00:17a 5.5% increase from 2023. The country with the highest rate of companies using AI is Denmark,

00:27followed by Sweden and Belgium. The use of artificial intelligence has gone up from 2023

00:34in every single EU state. In terms of large companies, those with at least 250 employees,

00:43the average use across the block is much higher, almost 42%. In Finland, it reaches over 70%,

00:54while big economies like France and Italy stand below the EU average, with approximately a third

01:02of large companies using AI. The most used AI technology in business is text mining, meaning

01:09the analysis of written texts. The second most used feature is natural language generation,

01:17in other words, the automated creation of written or spoken language. Speech recognition,

01:24converting spoken language into a machine-readable format, is third.
