00:002024 we know for Haarlem was a difficult year, will he fight, won't he fight, what's going on?
00:06First of all how do you deal with that as a promoter and also how did Haarlem deal with
00:10that? As a promoter you try and stabilise things pretty quick, as fast as you can.
00:16The issue is often when a fighter believes that something's going to happen and you've seen it
00:21before and not saying the fighter doesn't listen but it's a team of advisors around him as well,
00:26you sort of have to let it play out and we let the situation play out and then eventually we
00:35realised it's not happening but because of the time we lost and if you look at his record before
00:42it's very very consistent fights and he had to take a back to business fight
00:50um at the end of last year which you know showed as well that it was required, it was rusty,
00:56wasn't great um at the same time I think our matchmaking wasn't great either, I'll hold
01:02our hand up to that, I think the opponent didn't really look like the opponent we saw on the tapes
01:07but that can happen um but we're back and that's the I think the statement is then what you do next
01:15and you're up at a level and you're up at a level with uh with a live live fight and you know but
01:20this is by far uh the biggest name on his cv so far it's and and the the boring thing for us as
01:28team Eubank is we're not the biggest name on his cv you know he's got Regis Progres, Katchel,
01:34he's coming off a crazy amazing win um and this guy wants a tear up you know he's not coming here
01:43for some payday the fact we've got the IBF uh title on the line now as well for a top 10 position
01:51make McKenna's morning runs that little bit easier. In terms of this fight in Brighton as well
01:56how much would that mean to Harlem to have that victory on his belt in front of the fans here in
02:02Brighton? Fighters have always had fortresses over the years, places where they can come to for big
02:07fights and I think the success of the first event this is very different this is a bigger event
02:14tougher opponents there's there's there's stuff at stake now as well physical stuff as they like
02:19the place in the top 10 in the world rankings leads to a world title shot down the road so it's
02:25but it's at the end of your career when you look back it's like where where were where were where
02:30were my big fights and I think we've identified Brighton as a place that you know Harlem
02:37you know you ask Harlem where you're from he's Brighton born and bred so he's a proper boy
02:45yeah and that makes it authentic and that makes it much easier to to develop um to develop a fortress
02:54I remember when we promoted David A he was from London but we made sort of the MEN the fortress
03:00you know yeah um strange I don't know why London it was never it was we always liked to go to
03:06Manchester um great city to promote in as well but Brighton hasn't been on the map despite having
03:12that obvious link to boxing with uh with the Eubank family so I think that you know that's
03:18something that we've identified it's worked and I hope we can keep growing.
