00:00The lower house has approved, in second and third reading, two very important proposals

00:05that would be a big help to the education sector.

00:08Among this is House Bill No. 11214, or the Private Basic Education Vouchers Assistance Act.

00:14Under the said proposal, the scope of the government assistance to students and teachers in private schools

00:20will be expanded to include not just qualified grade 7 to 12 private school students,

00:25but also those in the basic education levels, like kindergarten, under certain conditions.

00:30Aside from this, House Bill No. 11213, or the Education Pathways Act,

00:35which aims to amend the K-12 system to provide quality job opportunities to the youth.

00:41House Committee on Basic Education and Culture Chair Rep. Roman Romulo said

00:46that measures aimed at improving the education sector is a priority of the lower house

00:51to help the country develop further.
