The spokesperson for the Norwegian Refugee Council Shaina Low says that the unprecedented destruction in Gaza has left the entire society traumatized.  #Gaza

00:00Yeah, you mentioned people's mental well-being. Clearly a lot of people must

00:05be really traumatized and I'm thinking particularly about children having seen

00:0915 months of deadly violence right under their noses.

00:15Yeah, I mean we have been working in Gaza for 15 years providing

00:20psychosocial support to students and of course there have been multiple

00:25escalations in those 15 years but we've never seen anything as devastating as

00:29this in terms of how widespread the devastation and destruction is and the

00:35amount of grief and trauma. We have an entire society that is traumatized and

00:40we need to ensure that our response is trauma-informed and that we're not just

00:45providing the basic essentials of food, water, and medicine but we're providing

00:50Palestinians with the tools and the psychosocial support that they need in

00:54order to restart their lives.
