00:00One of the generals who was involved in the Mayo drug case is no longer in the Philippines, according to the PNP.

00:05Hold departure orders for other police suspects are being waited for by the PNP.

00:10Ryan Lesigue is in the center of the news.

00:15The Philippine National Police or PNP has announced that one of the two police generals who was involved in the 990-kilo shabu raid in Manila in 2022,

00:26according to the PNP's Regional Office 3 Director and PNP Spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo,

00:32has been out of the country since January 8, which the general did not mention.

00:36We can explore other options of coordinating with the Interpol.

00:42And as a matter of practice, if we have warrants, we can apply for a red notice to at least inform the country

00:54so that we can help our counterparts to account for this one person who is out of the country.

01:03At present, some police involved in the case remain at large, where, from the said number, four are active, three are retired, one resigned and one was removed from service.

01:17While there are two people who are in jail, ten of them are held by arresting units, some are in the PNP Custodial Center and one is in the Manila City Jail.

01:28The so-called officials of the PNP are facing two cases related to the Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

01:39The first is Section 92 or bungling in the prosecution of the drug case with a fine of Php 200,000 and Section 29 or planting of evidence with no recommended fine.

01:51Although it is heavy because the Section 29 that was imposed on them is non-bailable, but as part of due process, we will proceed with the hearing of these cases.

02:04I understand that there are already pre-trials to start the cases that were filed against them.

02:13According to Fajardo, the PNP is waiting for the prosecution to issue a hold departure order against other police at large so that they cannot leave the country.

02:23They are not in a restrictive custody. If they are listening and their loved ones are watching them, I think it would be in their best interest for them to give up,

02:38just like what their colleagues have done, so that they will be given a chance as a matter of due process to answer these complaints.

02:57According to the news, the Manila Regional Trial Court issued a hold departure order against three police or 30 police involved in a drug haul worth Php 1 billion.
