00:00It's brilliant to see Ethan Wheatley come in. You look at Walsall's track record on
00:07the low market with Nathan Lowe, Ada B, Tommy Simpkin, etc. So many examples now. The fact
00:15that Walsall was able to get a youngster of that calibre just shows how much they're building
00:22a track record and a reputation for helping develop and nurture young players. Clubs like
00:27Man Utd want to send their prospects there to grow and develop, which I think is a real
00:32plus. But at the moment we don't necessarily know how good or how effective Ethan Wheatley
00:38is going to be. So we know how important that Jameel Mack can be. So clearly it's going
00:44to be key that he's fit.
00:45Yeah, it certainly is, isn't it? It's an interesting point you make there. And that was the kind
00:51of next thing that I had written down, really, George. Because like you say, Ethan Wheatley
00:56is someone who's coming in from Manchester United. He's made, I think, three substituted
00:59appearances in the league, maybe one in the EFL Cup this season for United. 19 years old.
01:06England under-19 international. Hasn't been out on a senior loan yet. The proof will be
01:13in the pudding on how effective he's going to be. You know, if you look, he's coming
01:18in, he's probably played a few less senior games than Nathan Lowe, maybe had for Stoke
01:22before he came in. But same age, similar build, similar stature. What did you kind
01:28of, the early look at him on Saturday, what did you kind of make of him? And is it kind
01:35of probably too early to tell whether he's going to hit the heights of Lowe? It'd be
01:39very difficult if he does. But if he comes in and scores a handful of goals, then he's
01:43probably done what Walsall probably want and what Man United want as well.
01:46Yeah, well, I mean, I've seen a couple of his cameos for United and just thought he
01:50kind of looked quite proactive, to be honest. But, you know, it was only a sort of small
01:53sample size of what you can maybe expect from him. And yeah, you know, a good record at
02:01youth level, which is which is a really good sign and success with United's youth teams
02:07last season. I think they've won a treble. So, you know, yeah, great pedigree in terms
02:13of his career at youth level. And now he's going to be looking to step up and try and
02:18make a name for himself on the senior stage. And yeah, I mean, the game was already dead
02:24by the time really he'd come on the pitch. But there were some glimpses. I mean, I liked
02:30his energy. There was a few times where he kind of pressed and got down that left hand
02:34side and tried to make things happen in which was a game where, you know, just nothing was
02:40really managing to stick for Walsall. So, yeah, you know, only early signs, only so
02:45much you can really gauge from it. But, you know, I remember I think I've been Nathan
02:49Lowe came on for his debut in a 1-0 defeat at MK Dons, where again, you know, despite
02:54the fact that they hadn't had three goals that passed them, Walsall just really struggled
02:59to offer a great deal going forward. But there were a few glimpses from Lowe in that game
03:03that you know, of what we eventually went on to see from him. And hopefully maybe, you
03:09know, we can we can see the same from from Ethan Wheatley. But yeah, too early to really
03:15gauge anything from that. But yeah, I think I think I think there are a couple of promising
03:20signs, albeit small.
