00:00The central event of the month of December 2024 was the States General of Diplomacy,
00:11which took place from 16 to 19 of December between Rome and Milan.
00:15The inaugural ceremony of the 17th Conference of Ambassadors took place at the Farnesina
00:20and was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the International Cooperation,
00:24Antonio Tajani.
00:25In his inaugural speech, the Minister focused on the current global situation and the role
00:30played by the Italian Presidency of the G7.
00:33On the same day, the speech was given by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella,
00:38who wanted to express his appreciation through the heads of mission present at the Farnesina
00:42to all those who operate in the diplomatic consular network.
00:46Over 150 heads of diplomatic offices abroad were present, numerous government ministers

01:05As part of the States General of Diplomacy 2024, on December 18 in Milan, at Bocconi
01:10University, Minister Tajani opened the second edition of the National Conference on Exports
01:15and Internationalization of Businesses.
01:17The choice of Milan, Tajani explained, was made to strengthen the direct dialogue between
01:22the diplomatic network and representatives of businesses, trade associations and public
01:26exports support agencies.
01:28More than 700 meetings were organized between ambassadors and business representatives,
01:33while over 1,800 meetings have been scheduled for the coming weeks, including virtual ones.
01:40The state visit to Italy of the Royal Family of Spain took place from December 10 to 12.
01:45Felipe VI and his wife Leticia were received in Rome by the President of the Republic,
01:49Sergio Mattarella, who had also visited Spain in 2021.
01:54After a lunch offered by the Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni at Villa Panfili, Felipe VI

03:04by Gravina and the leaders of Italian football champions on the caliber of Spalletti, Buffon
03:09and Allegri and the kids from two middle schools in the capital.
03:13The choice to host the exhibition in this location is dictated by the belief that sports
03:18is part of foreign policy, explained Tajani, recalling the creation of an office for sports
03:23diplomacy.
03:24We are living in a terrible moment and politics must ensure that men and women of sports become
03:29bearers of messages of peace.
