00:06New Year. As we join the rest of the world in celebrating the Year of the Snake, we're proud

00:12to mark the sixth Chinese New Year festival here in Edinburgh. This year's celebrations

00:18promise to be a vibrant showcase of Chinese culture and heritage with exciting programmes

00:24of events. The festival offers a wonderful opportunity for everyone in Edinburgh to learn

00:31more about Chinese traditions, history and art, deepening our shared understanding and rich

00:38culture. This occasion also highlights how welcoming and inclusive Edinburgh tries to be,

00:45not just for our local communities but also for the 15,000 Chinese students who've chosen our city

00:52as their home while they are at university or college. And we look forward to continuing to

00:59welcome Chinese guests to our great city throughout the year and to further strengthening the bonds of

01:05friendship and cultural exchange. So I wish you all a prosperous and joyful Year of the Snake.
