00:00Hi there. For most of us, the worst from storm Erwin is now over. It's moving off the scene
00:07but it's still going to bring some very strong winds into the far north of Scotland at first
00:13this weekend and a blustery weekend is expected on and off in places as further systems come
00:19and go. For the time being though, some areas of rain are still affecting the far south-east
00:24but for much of England and Wales, Northern Ireland, sunnier skies, a cold start to the
00:28day, a few icy patches about. It's a blustery start to the day for Scotland and those strong
00:33winds from storm Erwin still affecting the far north for a time before eventually calming
00:37down later. Those winds accompanied by frequent showers with some hill snow and then further
00:42showers by the end of the afternoon push into the west, predominantly Northern Ireland and
00:46Western Scotland accompanied by gusty winds. Ahead of that, well, plenty of pleasant weather
00:51actually for England and Wales and eventually the fine conditions extending into the south
00:55and east of Scotland. Feeling chilly, 6 or 7 Celsius but with lighter winds, a crisp
01:00winter day is expected. Nevertheless, it's this area of showery rain that will move west
01:06to east during the evening accompanied by some rumbles of thunder, perhaps some hail
01:11and gusty winds, not on the order of storm Erwin of course but still some lively weather
01:16to be had as it pushes east overnight. Further showers follow in places with snow falling
01:22over northern hills and it's going to be a cold night once again where we do get clear
01:26spells of frost, perhaps some icy patches. Nevertheless, it's going to be milder towards
01:31the southwest. The winds beginning to pick up once again first thing Sunday ahead of
01:35the next system but before that system moves in, plenty of places see a settled start to
01:41Sunday. The best of the sunshine will be across eastern and northern England during the morning
01:45and then Scotland into the afternoon. A chilly start here but apart from a few showers, it's
01:50a mostly fine day. Elsewhere, cloud, outbreaks of at times heavy rain move in along with
01:57strengthening winds. 60, perhaps 70 mile per hour wind gusts likely with this system. It's
02:03another fierce low but it's not going to be on the order of storm Erwin and it's not going
02:10to bring nearly as much disruption but it could hamper recovery efforts so it is worth
02:17paying close attention to and we'll keep you updated right here at the Met Office on
02:21how that's expected to evolve. You can stay up to date by following us on our YouTube
02:26channel or by the website and app. Bye-bye.
