Commuters passing through Charing Cross Station in London will have the opportunity to experience a vision of future transportation. A captivating pop-up installation featuring a futuristic flying taxi will be on display from October 9 to 16, offering a unique peek into innovative travel possibilities alongside the traditional black cabs on the streets.

Part of the UAE national ""Invest in the Emirates"" campaign, the installation showcases the country’s commitment to pioneering innovation and transforming visionary concepts into reality. The flying taxis, set to be integrated into the UAE public transportation system by 2026, promises to revolutionise urban mobility by offering a citywide air taxi service for all to use, as part of the public transportation system, making it accessible to everyone for daily commutes, business trips, and even leisure travel.

The taxi in development is set to fly from four dedicated vertiports at key locations, with speeds up to 320 km/h, these electric-powered taxis will significantly reduce travel times while operating quietly and sustainably, setting a new standard for global urban transportation.

While the flying taxi installation in London serves as a brief showcase of Emirates forward-looking initiatives, it also aims to highlight the UAE's dynamic business environment to potential UK and global entrepreneurs and investors. This futuristic display invites onlookers to imagine the endless possibilities and unrivalled opportunities that the Emirates has to offer.

00:00It's important at this difficult time to have dreams.
00:04We have to dream big.
00:05And this little bee is one way of dreaming.
00:08Impossible is possible.
00:10Amazing.
00:11There's this big, beautiful bird here.
00:13Being myself as a drone operator,
00:15I like flying drone quite often, and building drones myself
00:18too, like what I see here, it's a part of the future.
00:23It's amazing.
00:24That is fantastic.
00:25It's like there was a TV show in the 60s
00:28called The Jetsons, a cartoon, where they flew
00:30all around in the future.
00:32We're here.
00:34Looks amazing.
00:34I use this station a lot.
00:35And I've never come across anything of this kind.
00:38So just intrigued me.
00:39I went there when I had to come back to take photos of it.
00:42I'm just imagining what a ride that would be.
00:45UAE is like a place where most of these new things come.
00:50And that's why, yeah, first of all, it will be there.
00:53But if the right investments are made,
00:57it will be all around the world, probably.
00:59If I were there today, and if it was working right now,
01:02it would be the first thing I'd try.
01:04Cars is the past, and this is its future.
01:12I just left Charing Cross Station.
01:14And as I did, I saw this amazing taxi,
01:19which I wasn't expecting.
01:20And I thought, oh, I want to go home in that.
01:23It looks wonderful.
01:25I mean, we already have robot cars.
01:28And there's a lot less problems with traffic
01:31up at that level of sky.
01:34So it makes sense.
01:35But it's all about the fun, right?
01:38I was excited if it would come to, like, I could try it.
01:42And I've heard it's going to Dubai.
01:45So in the future, maybe I would drive one.
01:49So I'm pretty much shocked.
01:51I think the idea is very good.
01:55If this becomes commercial, it can solve traffic problems
02:02in the big cities all over the world.
02:05I absolutely believe that this is
02:07going to be a great solution for getting the traffic
02:09and for public transportation in the future.
02:14Blew me away.
02:15We're watching this, like, years ago on films.
02:18So it was like, what is really happening?
