00:00Marine Rescue New South Wales is urging paddlers and boaters this weekend to resist hitting

00:05the water if the conditions don't allow.

00:08Make sure that you check the weather conditions before you do head out and if in doubt, don't

00:12go out.

00:13We want boaters to put safety front of mind this long weekend.

00:16We've got some of the greatest waterways in New South Wales and we want to make sure everyone

00:20has a great time, enjoys the waterways, but most importantly, returns home safely.

00:27It's important that boaters make sure that their vessel is in good working order, they've

00:31got good clean fuel and enough fuel in reserve, they've got the required safety equipment,

00:36they're wearing a life jacket and most importantly, they've checked the weather and logged on

00:40with their local Marine Rescue Base.

00:41So if you don't return as planned, our dedicated volunteers will start looking for you.
